FAQ

GENERAL QUESTIONS:

I. What does VPN mean?

VPN means Virtual Private Network. Our service will make sure that your connection is safe, secure, and private. This will be done by encrypting the traffic you send to the network.

II. How does a VPN function?

VPN allows a host computer to send and receive data throughout shared or public networks without limitations. This includes full functionality, management policies, and of course, security. It must be noted that, with the VPN, these are all possible, but your IP address will change. Our VPN service would insert a new network interface that will make you feel as if you are connected directly to the internet.

III. Is other file-sharing traffic or applications allowed on all servers?

VPN exists for the purpose of online security amidst potential hackers and loose encryption settings. We do, however, allow P2P file sharing on US-California 1, Romania, Luxembourg, France, and Canada-East servers provided that the file sharing is legal. In addition, it is rare that our team would decrease the speed of the connection due to file sharing.

IV. Is it possible to utilize your VPN rather than using my ISP connection?

No, because an internet connection and a VPN service are not the same. In fact, you will have to use your internet connection, whether cable, DSL, 3G, Satellite, etc. to be able to use the VPN service.

V. Is there a difference between a Proxy and a VPN service? If so, what are they?

Proxies are not known to be stable connections compared to VPN connections. In addition, some applications do not work when you are connected to a proxy connection. You might have to reconfigure your proxy to be able to use those applications. This is not necessary for VPN connections.

VI. Will the VPN service enhance my internet connection’s speed?

It is not our practice to slow down the connection of any of our consumers/users. This also applies regardless if you are on the trial or paid subscriptions. What would cause the varying speeds of your connection would be the workload of your VPN server and how far you are from the said server.

VII. If I want to make my connection faster, is it possible to do it with the use of a VPN service?

Yes, as the VPN services can actually circumvent regulations by the ISPs.

VIII. Are the VPN servers you provide available in all countries?

VPN Companies are currently expanding their services to different markets. You may view the list from the VPN service client app.

IX. Is your service available in China?

Although VPN Companies would like to give you the maximum service they can provide, there are limitations set by the Chinese Government that they cannot bypass. However, there are 5 VPN regions for users who are located in China: US, UK, DE, SG, and HK. For Android users, we suggest that you utilize the special Stealth mode which can be activated in the options tab of the VPN service. Activating the special Stealth mode will make your connection more stable.

X. Are other protocols like ICQ, Mail, or FTP protected under the VPN service?

Yes, because all programs utilize a virtual network interface. This acts as a guard for any app that connects to the internet from your device. Just make sure that you are connected to our VPN server.

XI. Google sent me a “Suspicious sign in prevented” email. Why would I get such an email?

When you are connected to an active VPN, you are already using the VPN’s IP address. Google monitors the same IP address that depends on your IP’s geographical location. Because of the change, Google sends an email for suspicious activity. You can learn more about it here.

XII. Can you explain what the Streaming Region is?

The Streaming region pertains to the servers that are designed to make watching videos from services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other streaming services enhanced.
